Wounds

A friend of mine remarked the other day on the big difference between “feeling” our wounds and “carrying” them. I was stunned by this seemingly simple insight. It is the difference between being involved in the healing needed….or still being caught drama of the situation. They are very much on opposite ends of the spectrum. One is actively working on clearing and moving past what is affecting you, the other is still occupying the space of “being wounded.”

The analogy that came to me was of a rope with a knot in it. Often when you untie the knot there will be a slight dent, bend or memory of theĀ  knot, but the rope is now free of the knot. Use this analogy to think of a situation or crisis in your life that is still a wound or causing you emotional pain. As you release the pain, you untie the knot. There will still be memory of the event, but the intense emotions and their emotional charge are released.

It is also helpful to discover how you process circumstances as they happen in your life. My friend is emotionally centered, meaning she goes first to her emotions to process life’s circumstances and events. I am intellectually centered. I go first to my intellect to process. I figure things out first, she feels things first. When you think about it this will also affect how you “carry” and how you “clear” your wounds. (The Michael Teachings explain our centering….follow the links found on the home page of LiveTrue.com.)

By using healing tools and feeling/processing your wound…..you release the need to carry it any longer. There are many tools, techniques and practitioners available these days to help us release and heal our baggage. We no longer need to carry our wounds, nor is there really any reason for the process to be long, drawn-out, and painful. If you need help releasing your wounds…..reach out to a reputable healing practitioner.
